These special blow off valves are available in bolted bonnet angle and streamlined flow 45º inclined designs for Class 600 and 1500 primary service and in bonnet less angle and inclined designs for Class 2500. Stellite 6 seats and fully-guided Stellite 6 discs resist the excessive corrosion and erosion effects aggravated by grid and boiler scale particles and high temperature changes. Backseat bevel on the stem, not on the disc, satisfies both API-600 and API-602 specifications.

Usmani Valve Forged Globe Valves are linear motion valves devised for stopping the flow of the service fluid when necessary. They are of robust and compact design, bolted bonnet, outside screw and yoke, conventional port and rising hand wheel, being the closure element a disc seating against a precisely machined seat thus achieving the positive closure. The atmospheric sealing is achieved by flexible graphite rings. The flow comes upwards underneath the seat, being unidirectional. Their shape leads to higher pressure drop compared to gate valves but operation is quicker and this feature allows to use the valve as regulating valve when arranged with throttling plug. Usmani valves Globe valves are used mainly for steam or other media where a throttling service is required. The seat design gives an advantage for doing this by utilising its globe shape as it comes down to connect with the seat effectively cutting the flow gradually up until it seals completely on the seat face. This however does cause a larger pressure drop than say a gate valve and causes turbulence in the line. The size, pressure class and material selection of all globe valves are the responsibility of the user or system designer. Process Systems may offer suggestions in this area, however the selection process is solely the responsibility of the end user or plant operator.
Globe valves are unidirectional whereby they are only designed to take the flow in one direction, under the disc. There is an arrow of direction cast into the valve body but can easily be checked by looking into one end of the valve and see whether you are looking at the underside of the seat or above the seat. It is recommended that the valve be mounted vertically only whereby the hand wheel operation will be at the top of the valve. This ensures that no premature wear or damage will occur to the valve.
